My research investigates electron transfer processes in porous metal organic polyhedra (MOPs). MOPs contain porosity within a molecular unit, providing processability to incorporate this porosity in thin films, membranes, and other electronic materials. By appending charged or redox-active functional groups on the surface of MOPs, I intend to impart novel electronic or magnetic properties in these structures. Incorporating porous MOPs into conductive materials like transition metal dichalcogenides could create potential thermoelectrics, allowing the conversion of waste heat into usable electricity.
