I will study perovskite solar cells enhanced by distributed feedback structures. Solar cells based on solution-processed perovskite materials have emerged with strong potentials for photovoltaics due to the materials’ unique properties such as high quantum efficiency, long carrier lifetime, large mobility. While an impressive power conversion efficiency (PCE) of >22% has been achieved, the devices demonstrated thus far are mostly based on planar layer structures, which leaves room for performance improvement through optimizing the device structure. We propose a new perovskite solar cell with integrated distributed feedback (DFB) structure that matches the second-order Bragg resonance condition. The device fabrication starts with ITO and PEDOT:PSS as the hole transport layer. Nanoimprint will be used to create the designed DFB structure in PEDOT:PSS. Perovskite, PCBM, C60 are subsequently spun cast on the DFB structure. Finally, silver is evaporated to form cathodes. We aim to demonstrate improved PCE through enhanced light absorption enabled by the DFB.
